Much Thrilled Monday Issue

I'd rather not comment about my absence, but the shock of having to restart college beat me into a small box called laziness. It's a pleasure to be writing again despite I fear few comments. The weeks have been fairly uneventful and with the Olympics over there is yet nothing great to watch on TV. The whole of year 12 piled into coaches off to the Gmex in Manchester (a big exhibition centre) for a kick in the backside to consider university options and courses. For those who knew many, if any of the school governers, one Honorary Governer Judge Michael Lever died not but two weeks ago only two days after his second wifes' funeral on Malta. I merely can connect with him through the fact that my Grandparents lived next door to him and both his first and second wife for many years.

I would like to see if you can find a more annoying person than one Ali Altaf. In one very boring and uneventful Physics lesson a few of us decided to engage in the first of it's kind "Ali Tally". A tally of things that this person does to annoy us and how many times he is capable of doing them. The range of tallies incuded: times he laughed for no reason, times he agreed upon something he had no idea about, times spoke in a stupid voice and times he repeated what he just said of something some-one else said. One of the boxes was times he asked a question, and this is just staggering. In 70 minutes he managed a whopping 84 questions, that is 72 questios an hour or 1.2 a minute. this person is a machine of annoyance, it was a god send today what he was not in the lesson. Using our tally he manages 291 annoying things every 70 minutes, even our physics teacher makes jokes about his annoying Irish nature. Oh, did I not mention it he is Irish too, so manages five words a second i.e. speaks really fast. One thing to say to him: "AAAARRRGGGHHH!"

In other news I just like to say that the prices Xcape Leeds Adventure Outdoor Centre are ridiculously scandalous. They manage to blag climbers into paying by the half an hour or hour, I am glad there are sane centres for normal people where you only pay for that day and you can climb for all day if you wish. (Manchester Climbing Centre rocks!!)

I do not know if Kyle's 18th has been and gone yet, but on behalf of the Scandal Press Office and all employees I would like to wish him Happy Birthday and a smiley face.

Yours Sincerely

Harsh Reality

On that final point I'd like to further that birthday wish on behalf of the SP team and wish Kyle a happy birthday. Now here's some true scandal, which hasn't been broadcasted for obvious reasons that Harsh Realtiy is not yet at uni, but here it goes:

ARGGGHHH, why on earth do we have to suffer, the students, for the pay dispute currently going on between lecturers and the authorities?? Why is it that we have to suffer the fact that the government hasn't followed through on its promise and given them a pay rise with the corresponding rise in tuition fees? Leave us out of it!

Not only have we had a full uni day ruined by the strike (at a critical point mind) but they have pledged not to mark any of our courseworks until the dispute is ended. That, my friends, is quite frankly scandalous. There is no other appropriate word for it. Let us know what you think, and Chief Editor, are you out there? Could you devise some article fitting enough to explain the problem?

erm.. i have just returned from my adventures in snow and being a student on a tight budget i have learnt to ski (it was fun)
i have also been a way fighting the evil squid god of whom much is revered in this small place of coldness, anyhoo, isent myarmy of prawns to the rescueto defeat this evil hellion and then came home to two essays, a review, and more in class tests.

The only problem with the recent strike is the fact that they neglected to do it on a day that i was required to be in uni, how rude and inconsiderate!!!

Kyle's Birthday was absolutely amazing! Tequila, Tequila, although scott's sleep was interputed in a not very nice manor.

Pete you have obviously never heard of one Mohammed Pathan, his skills at annoying people are unmatched. "is it true that..." or "it says in this book that...." every 30 seconds in physics was so infuriating that we took drastic measures to shut the annoying little prick up!

that was Biology, get it right James.

And to be honest, I agree with the lecturers, if the Government are going to make students pay the fees, then they might as well be kind and let us(well, everyone who joins next year) feel like that extra money is worth it (ie. paying the lecturers for the job they are doing in giving us our education)

On Scotts point of the coursework, well thats unlucky, and I have to say that the people here aren't being that stupid. Personally I only had one lecture cancelled for the strike, although that didn't seem to get out to the majority of students on the course who decided that the whole day should be missed. Probably some of the same people who then go around complaining(not saying anything bout u Scott, just people here) about having paid for lectures and so wanting a refund for the strike...I have to admit that after the most boring lecture ever first thing on Tuesday(which at most 50 people turned up for), I skipped the rest of the days 2 lectures(i'm sure with quite a few others), although having had barely any sleep the week before, I at least have some sort of excuse.

IT WAS PHYSICS! "er Madam, is it true that the speed of ligt is 3x10^8?" sound like a pretty odd Biology question, furthermore Moe was sat at the back of the class during pysics and as a result got pelted with everything available including his own belongings.
